Family friend jailed over attack on teenage girl

A man who attacked a teenager at a caravan park in East Lothian has been jailed for four years.

Kevin Cowley, 57, from Easthouses in Midlothian pleaded guilty to indecent assault from the incident on 21 May last year.

Cowley attacked the girl while she was sleeping.

He had earlier contacted the victim’s family asking to be picked up and to spend the night at their home after being out drinking in Leith.

Cowley was yesterday placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely after his conviction at the High Court of Edinburgh.
