Breaking with tradition: Ayrshire castle unveils custom-made eco-homes

A historic Ayrshire castle is fusing old and new by welcoming eco-houses on its estate. Up to 66 custom-built homes will be sited on the grounds of 13th-century Rowallan Castle, in partnershi­p with builder Cherish Homes. Five plots are reserved and it is expected the next phase of 20 plots will be sold by September.

George Campbell, of Rowallan Castle Estate, said: “For the first time, Rowallan Castle Estate will be home to people looking for a more sustainabl­e way of life with this new developmen­t of eco-houses.”
