Who’s in the frame to be next manager?

- By NEIL MCGLADE

Robbie Neilson

The former Hearts and MK Dons manager is currently unattached following his exit from the Buckinghamshire-based club in January. Livingston’s limited financial resources are well known and the club wouldn’t have to stump up compensation should they decide to go for the 38-yearold, who led Hearts to the Championship title in 2015.

Gavin Skelton

A fairly unfamiliar name in terms of management, Skelton’s last stint was at the helm of Queen of the South two years ago. However, he lasted just six months as the Dumfries side’s player/manager before departing for personal reasons. He was tempted back into a playing capacity last year with SPFL League Two side Annan Athletic.

0 David Hopkin: U-turn?

Gary Holt

Similarly to Robbie Neilson, Holt is currently out of football and is looking for an opening back into management. He spent one full season as manager of Falkirk in 2013-2014 and steered the club to a third-place finish in the Championship – finishing just three points behind eventual winners Dundee. He took up a coaching position at Norwich City at the end of that season and remained there for two campaigns.

David Hopkin

In what would be the most dramatic of U-turns, could Hopkin be the club’s saviour and return to the side he led to the Championship title just three months ago? Would he want the job given it was his to lose in the first place? Would the club want to offer him the post again considering he chose not to agree a new contract? It’s a tough call for both parties.
