Council pair are expelled from coalition
Two Hawick councillors have resigned from Scottishborders council’ s independent alliance, resulting in their expulsion from the authority’s ruling administration.
Watson Mcateer and Stuart Marshall have resigned from the coalition of independents over what they consider to be decisionmaking bias.
They contend the best interests of Hawick are not represented by the leading coalition partner, the authority’s Conservative group. Both councillors were asked to leave the chamber following a motion to expel them.
