Edinburgh-based safety case and risk-management specialist Abbott Risk Consulting (Arc) has been awarded work valued at up to £10 million.

Arc has won the framework agreements from Dounreay Site Restoration (DSRL) for safety case production and related services over the next two to four years.

The initial awards are for a two-year period with options for two further one-year extensions and are valued at £8m to £10m. In addition to the core safety case work, the frameworks cover specialist services including human factors, radiation shielding, criticality assessment and engineering substantiation.

John Baggs, director of Arc’s nuclear business unit, said the firm is very pleased to be joining the DSRL framework, reinforcing its knowledge of providing services on and off-site to the de-commissioning sector. He added: “We are delighted to continue working with them over the coming two to four years.”
