Revenue fears at Game: Company hit by weak second-hand sales
Game Digital has warned that full-year revenue for the 52 weeks to 28 July is expected to edge down and profit will come under further pressure, as it renegotiates store leases with landlords. The group said “challenges in the preowned business”, or secondhand video games, had affected its overall gross profit rate, but “significant progress” has been made on reducing costs across the UK store estate, via a lease-renegotiation programme and the reorganisation of head office and distribution centre teams.
