It is sad that the 50th anniversar­y of the Soviet action on

20-21 August 1968 which ended the Prague Spring has been almost entirely ignored by the UK press and BBC.

After all, that action was the second invasion of Czechoslov­akia in the 30 years since 1938 and the biggest military mobilisati­on in Europe since 1945, killing the hopes and dreams of two generation­s throughout the UK and continenta­l Europe. The ignorance and
