Good move

I was pleased to hear that the Scottish Government has at last seen sense and is to scrap its illconsidered plans to integrate British Transport Police into Police Scotland. The proposed integration was not considered practical or effective and raised concerns about operational working and the pension fund liability to be inherited by the move, not to mention the troubled and shaky start for the management of Police Scotland.

Thank goodness for the ordinary bobby on the street doing their job despite the senior management turmoil. DENNIS FORBES GRATTAN
