Dundee United Muddled thinking

- Big Geoff

Two weeks into the league season and a free Saturday already. Hallelujah! The muddled and incomprehensible thinking of the Scottish football elite allows for a whole weekend given over to the last 16 of the League Cup. I could understand the semi-finals or even the quarter-finals, but it seems ridiculous to have teams inactive and stadiums sitting vacant at a time when fans might actually want to go and watch a game.

I wonder how that will come back to haunt us in deepest darkest winter as pitches become unplayable and teams are left playing Saturday, Tuesday for the last eight weeks of the season. Never mind, it’ s onwards and hopefully up wards when Partick visit on Saturday – a game that has to atone for our abject league opener.
