Positives in defeat

While our “Right Said Fred” cup game against Celtic finished in defeat, there were a lot of positives for a young Thistle team to be proud of. The performances of Slater, Spittal, Mutombo and, off the bench, young Aidan Fitzpatrick bode well for the coming season. Now with the addition of Coulibaly, the potential and danger to other teams in the Championship increases.

We are still short in the centre of the midfield. Bannigan will be ready very soon, Mccarthy will return at some point and, hopefully, Gordon, who was injured on Saturday, will not be out for too long. With another couple to come in, I wonder if those fans who didn’t go to the Q&A two weeks ago should have. Perhaps they would have heard the words “targets” and “patience”.
