Tale of two ties

League business took a back seat last week as cup football took centre stage. Queens eventually made light work of Stenhousemuir in the Challenge Cup, with an inspired Stephen Dobbie cameo appearance from the bench sending us through 3-0.

Our League Cup last-16 tie with St Johnstone was a much closer affair with nothing separating the teams after 90 minutes. The Perth side eventually won through in extra-time leaving Doonhamers pleased with their team’s endeavour, but disappointed to have exited the competition.

The focus now shifts to our trip to Falkirk where we will be looking to pick up our first win of the Championship campaign.
