24 drivers caught speeding near primary school

-

Twenty-four drivers have been caught speeding near a primary school during a lunch break.

Police caught the drivers close to Hilton Primary School in Inverness on Thursday.

Police said speeding drivers were putting children’s lives at risk and they would continue to carry out enforcement near schools.

One of the drivers will be reported to the procurator fiscal, two have been fined and the rest were given warnings.

Studies say five per cent of pedestrians would die if struck by a vehicle travelling at 20mph.
