Sanderson Jones: That’s The Spirit

Heroes @ Boteco (Venue 516)

- KATE COPSTICK

The hour does contain some comedy: a couple of Venn diagrams (one absolutely the best in the world), some Gormanesque Googling, the story of how a government body deemed Jones officially unsexy. But mainly this is a full on Fringe Experience that sends you out buzzing with happy. Jones is now working full time with the Sunday Assembly – which is about secular spirituality and no, that is not an oxymoron.

There are just six of us but we stretch and we swing, we dance and we sing: 500 Miles and a bit of exultant Spandau Ballet, to bring us to peak belief in ourselves. In between we power breathe, we primal scream away our frustrations, we flood our brains with oxytocin and norepinephrine, we feel our life-force and we have, all in all, an absolutely great time.

Be sure in the midst of all this to look out for the hilarious Easter egg in one of the video clips. It gave me a real serotonin surge.

Until today, noon.
