M9 shut after man left seriously hurt

A man was seriously injured in a crash on the M9 motorway last night.

The single vehicle collision happened about 6:10pm. Junction two on the road towards Edinburgh was closed after the incident.

All lanes around the junction remained shut eastbound for some time to allow collision investigation work.

A 31-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

All traffic was being diverted off at junction two following the crash.
