Veteran put out to grass: Vintage tractor drafted in to help returf George Square after the games

Grass was relaid in Glasgow’s George Square yesterday after the European Championships, with the extra assistance of a vintage tractor.

Workers Rob Muir, Angus Kerr and Dave Nicol from contractors Covanburn used a 1964 Massey Ferguson for the job to lay 1,200 square metres of turf.

The square hosted the event’s opening party and closing night celebrations this month.
