Boardroom changes for Glasgow packaging firm Macfarlane

- By SCOTT REID

Macfarlane Group, the Glasgow-based packaging specialist, has unveiled the appointment of Andrea Dunstan as a non-executive director with effect from 1 September.

Dunstan is said to possess “significant experience” in the fields of performance management, organisation- al development, strategy and change management across a range of sectors. She was most recently chief people officer at Premier Farnell.

As previously announced, Macfarlane’s senior independent director Mike Arrowsmith had indicated his intention to step down from the board. The group confirmed yesterday that he would be stepping down on 31 August. Dunstan will be appointed as chair of the company’s remuneration committee, replacing Bob Mclellan, who will be appointed as senior independent director with effect from 1 September.

Stuart Paterson, chairman of Macfarlane Group, said: “I am pleased to welcome Andrea to the board. I know that her extensive and highly relevant experience will prove to be a significant asset for the business.

“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Mike for his dedicated service to Macfarlane Group over the last six years and for the contribution that he has made. He has been a valued member of the board and we wish him continued success in the future.”

Last week, the group reported “strong” interim results. 0 Chairman Stuart Paterson announced the changes
