Distracted MSPS

-

This issue over Scotland’s former First Minister has taken its time and one wonders when Scottish Government business gets done, and how effectively at that. Innocent or guilty of whatever he is being accused of, the competence of Scottish Government administration is in the dock over matters raised more than six months ago now. Alex Salmond taking legal action against the Scottish Government, whatever its outcome, will surely involve legal costs for Scotland’s taxpayers.

On a much wider issue of justice, which has to be done and seen to be done, are we in an age of legal archaeology with wrongs committed decades ago taking up more police and courtroom time than present day criminality? The new Chief Constable has a big job on his hands, and apparently wants devolved policing in a Police Scotland which Scottish Government reduced from eight to a single force!
