Alloa Athletic Courage under fire

- Brian Roach

Alloa are off the mark for the season with a terrific point up at Inverness. The team were under pressure for long spells and received a slice of luck when a nonsensically awarded second Caley Thistle penalty smashed the crossbar. But they displayed the spirit and courage under fire which has become a real trademark throughout Jim Goodwin’s tenure so far at the club. None more so than goalkeeper Neil Parry, who produced a string of excellent saves.

Alloa threatened going forward, too, with Dario Zanatta offering an effective outball and causing real problems on his debut. The players will go into Saturday’s game against Dundee United full of belief. We gave them a real game in the Betfred Cup and can do so again.
