Defensive blow

Saturday was always going to be a difficult game for Thistle at Tannadice but to lose Tam O’ware after two minutes only made matters worse. The big man is not only a solid defender but is a threat in the opposition box and to lose him is a massive blow. Early indications are not good and it looks like potentially a season-ending injury. A blow not only to the Jags but also the player himself.

Thistle’s defending from set pieces was nothing short of farcical and every time a cross was swung into the box you felt United could score. I’m sure that will be something that is worked on in training this week. On a positive note Stuart Bannigan played an hour in a reserve game. His return would be a massive boost.
