Alex Salmond has previously come under fire over the size of the pension pot he will receive when he walks away from politics.

His biggest pension will come from being Scotland’s longest-serving First Minister and was put at £42,000 in 2014.

But he has been attacked by Labour at Holyrood over claims he would walk away with four other pensions relating to his time working with RBS and as a civil servant in the Scottish Office before entering politics. He will also get pensions from his time as an MSP and MP.
