Stockpile of metal stolen in industrial estate raid

- By LUCINDA CAMERON

Around £300,000 of metal has been stolen from business premises on an industrial estate in West Lothian.

The break-in at Dael Telecoms in the Brucefield Industrial Estate in Livingston happened between 5pm on Monday last week and 9am the following morning.

Police said they believed the thieves would be planning to sell the metal on and appealed for information. The items stolen include tower bracing bars, full tower bolt kits, anti-climb equipment and latch-way systems.

Detective Constable Greig Muir, from Livingston CID, said: “We believe whoever was responsible for this theft will look to sell the metal on for scrap and as such would require either one large vehicle or a number of vehicles.

“Anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity ... should contact police immediately.”
