WH Smith trade holding up well

WH Smith expects its financial results for the year to be in line with expectations as it delivers cost savings in its high street business.

The books and stationery retailer’s travel business continued to perform “strongly” across all channels, the firm said in a trading update. WH Smith’s high street arm is trading in line with forecasts. The firm will publish its full-year results on 11 October.
