Gorgie trio go on loan for rest of season

- By MOIRA GORDON

Hearts have farmed out another three players, Ryan Edwards joining St Mirren and Malaury Martin and Aidan Keena heading to Dunfermline.

All three have agreed season-longloansafterfailing to force their way into first-team reckoning at the capital club.

Edwards was one of manager Craig Levein’s earliest summer acquisitions but the Australian midfielder’s only competitive appearance was for Andy Kirk’s reserve side as they faltered in the League Challenge Cup against Ross County.

Hearts will host St Mirren this afternoon, looking to extend their unbeaten run to nine games, but the 24-year-old will not be eligible to play against his parent club.

Frenchman Martin, who was signed by former manager Ian Cathro in January 2017, made 21 appearances for Hearts and scored two goals but Levein had made it clear the 30-yearold does not feature in his plans.

The midfielder will be joined at East End Park by promising striker Keena, as soon as the 19-year-old has completed his rehabilitation from a hernia operation.

The Pars have further bolstered their attacking options by signing former Hearts forward Robbie Muirhead from MK Dons for an undisclosed fee.
