Edwin G Lucas: An Individual Eye
Lucas spent all his working life as an Edinburgh civil servant, but this didn’t prevent him from developing a bold and unusual body of work inspired by abstract painting and surrealism, unlike anything else in Scottish art at the time. Rarely seen for more than 50 years, his work is brought together for the first time in this exhibition, a feast of colour and ingenuity, and a powerful introduction to a painter who has been unknown for too long.
