Tory challenge

-

Scottish Tory leader Ruth Davidson urged Nicola Sturgeon to use a major Holyrood statement, when MSPS return to the Scottish Parliament today, to rule out holding a second independence referendum.

Ruth piling on the pressure, put up or shut up, what an interesting and potentially worrying autumn we will have.

Ruthie Ruthie Ruthie. If you really wanted to put off a referendum, you’d be speaking to your boss Theresa over staying in the EU’S single market and customs union. But you aren’t, so forget about being listened to in Holyrood.

You are wasting your breath, Ruth. If Sturgeon agrees and takes it off the table then she will lose the support of many SNP supporters and will see the risk of losing her leadership increase.

City Loon It’s obvious Sturgeon has painted herself into a corner where she’s damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t. She’ll need to roll out some carrot on a stick saying she’s going to review it before the spring conference next year, then at that point say she doesn’t have a clear enough picture of the terms of Brexit and its impact on the country so it’ll be over to the autumn conference.

Fergy Smiley

You can always tell when Unionist fear is increasing. They roll out One Trick Pony “Ruth the Mooth” bleating on about Indyref2 rather than proposing any policies whatsoever because she has none. She will oppose every single new SNP policy, not because they are not good for Scotland, but because that is all she is capable of doing.
