Poor account

Royal Bank of Scotland has been branded “utterly disgusting” after announcing plans to swing the axe on another 54 branches, resulting in 258 job losses. The lender, still 62 per cent owned by the taxpayer, said the move was linked to it not having to sell its Williams & Glyn business.

Can we please stop the hysteria about this? Far fewer people now use physical bank branches so it’s inevitable they will close. Who should pay to keep them open? behind could approach the bank with a proposal re: how their branch could be maintained/funded.

Pax Vobiscum

It should never have been saved. That’s the bottom line.

Semantics? The further 54 branches being closed are in England and Wales with the loss of 258 jobs. This is in addition to the 162 RBS branch closures announced earlier this year with the loss of 792 jobs. The total number of closures will only leave 54 RBS branches covering the whole of England and Wales.
