Commsworld inks Sky deal to widen network
Edinburgh-based telecoms firm Commsworld has struck a deal with Sky that will allow business users to access its ethernet network.
Under the agreement, Commsworld will have access to wholesale ethernet from almost 3,000 ethernet-enabled exchanges, allowing the company to extend its UK footprint and bring fibre connectivity to more of it customers’ premises.
The news follows recent deals with Cityfibre and Zayo which saw Commsworld become the operator of the UK’S largest privately-owned fibre network.
Charlie Boisseau, chief technology officer of Commsworld, said: “The need for bandwidth and the critical importance of having a resilient connection is growing.
“Connectivity is now the umbilical cord for so many businesses – and that’s why we are unashamedly ambitious in our drive to grow – because we feel we can offer a different approach.”
