Morton Good riddance

- Andrew Ward

They say a week is a long time in football, and that was certainly the case at Cappielow. Cast your minds back to last week; Ray Mckinnon had guided his newly-formed Morton side to a fantastic win against early title favourites Ross County, sending the Ton top of the league. Life was good. Fast forward one week; Morton are no longer top of the league, have suffered their first league defeat of the season and, most significantly, no longer have a manager.

Mckinnon’s sudden exit doesn’t sit well with me. After his poor tenure at Dundee United, Morton took a chance on Ray Mckinnon. Morton gave Ray Mckinnon a large budget. Morton put their faith in Ray Mckinnon. And Ray Mckinnon let us down. So Ray, good riddance.
