Recycling charity goes up in flames

-

A firewood charity in Glasgow which recycles trees destined for landfill has gone up in flames.

A large plume of smoke was seen billowing from the Bullwood Project building on Nitshill Road yesterday morning.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the alarm was raised at 2.32 am. No-one was injured but a nearby primary school and nursery were closed as a result. Glasgow City Council said the Nitshill Enterprise Centre had gone up in flames, and urged residents to keep their windows shut.
