What’s the last piece of clothing you bought?

Laura: A pair of black high-heeled boots from a boutique shoe shop in Balham, South London. Sarah: A designer concert dress from TK Maxx.

What are you addicted to buying?

Laura: Anything that’s good value for money. Sarah: Jumpsuits. They are so practical when playing the cello.

Best ever bargain?

Laura: We were in Amsterdam and I found a brown genuine leather jacket with a fur hood for €20 in a market. Sarah: An Armani jumpsuit in a charity shop in London.

Who has great style?

Laura: My big sister. Sarah: My little sister, but she learns from me.

Name your favourite high street shop.

Laura: Zara and TK Maxx. Sarah: Zara and Mango.

Any fashion disasters you’d care to tell us about?

Laura: In 2015, Sarah and I entered a competition called The Big Music Project. I had worn this strapless dress on numerous occasions, but the zip got stuck. We couldn’t even find a safety pin. The only option was to go on stage. The dress didn’t fall down (thank God) and we won the competition. Sarah: We were at an Africa Celebrations VIP event and just as I arrived I stood on my dress and my heel went through the back of it.

What’s your favourite item in your wardrobe?

Laura: My Calzedonia jeans. Sarah: A leather jacket from a shop in High Street Kensington. I was reluctant to buy it, because it was so expensive. Several months later, Laura bought it for me for Christmas. It is probably the most precious item of clothing I have. n The Ayoub Sisters are
