Council shuts £28m new school

A council has decided to shut a brand new £28 million stateof-the-art school campus on safety grounds.

Dumfries and Galloway Council said it had “lost confidence” in assurances it had been given over the North West Community Campus in Dumfries.

The local authority would not comment on reports a child had been struck by a board. The same campus was closed last month after a pupil was struck by a sliding door which came off its rails.
