Legal firms announce string of appointments and promotions

Ockrim is one of only a handful of dual qualified property solicitors in Scotland, meaning that she is able to act for clients in property transactions in England as well as Scotland. She graduated from Strathclyde University before joining WJM as a trainee and subsequently advancing through the firm. O’neill specialises in commercial contracts, intellectual property and technology law. He graduated from Glasgow University and also trained with WJM.
● Law firm Brodies LLP has appointed Karen Davidson to partner in its corporate tax and incentives team. Having trained and practised as a lawyer specialising in mergers and acquisitions, Davidson turned her focus to tax two years after qualifying. She advised clients across the full range of tax and share plan matters, including the tax planning advice required to support energy sector and private equity transactions. Following her time in a commercial law firm, Davidson moved to EY, where she has spent the last two years as a director. Based predominantly in Brodies’ Glasgow office, she will cover a wide range of business taxation matters.

He joins TLT’S specialist multidisciplinary team from Pinsent Masons, where he worked for two decades and launched its energy real estate practice in Scotland. He has specialised in clean energy for the last 15 years, working across the whole of the UK and managing transactions involving energy developments internationally.
● Scottish Land & Estates has enhanced its policy team with the appointment of an adviser on agriculture. Eleanor Kay joins the organisation from Rothamsted Research, the world-leading research centre for agricultural science and innovation, where she worked as the knowledge exchange manager. Before her current role, Kay held positions in agricultural development at Birds Eye and as a trials officer at Oxford Agricultural Trials. At SLE, she will join a team which has been growing in recent months, with a number of appointments across the policy and regional functions. Kay will also be involved in developing opportunities for entrants to agriculture.
