Pensioner killed in lorry collision named by police

A pedestrian knocked down and killed by a lorry has been named by police.

Mary Allan, 83, was hit by the HGV at the St Machar roundabout on King Street in Aberdeen at around 11:40am on Monday.

Emergency services were called to the crash but Ms Allan, who was from the Bridge of Don area of the city, died.

Sergeant Scott Deans said: “Our inquiries into the incident are ongoing and I would continue to urge anyone who witnessed what happened but has not yet spoken to the police to please get in touch.”
