Annan funeral: Ghanaian chiefs pay their respects to former UN leader

0 Ghanaian chiefs pay their respects as the coffin of former UN Secretary-general Kofi Annan, draped with the Ghana flag, lies in state at the Accra Internatio­nal Conference Centre in Ghana yesterday. Ghanaians paid their respects to Mr Annan, who died in August in Switzerlan­d aged 80, ahead of today’s state funeral. The grandson of tribal chiefs, Mr Annan was the first black African to become the UN leader and was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize.
