Annan funeral: Ghanaian chiefs pay their respects to former UN leader
0 Ghanaian chiefs pay their respects as the coffin of former UN Secretary-general Kofi Annan, draped with the Ghana flag, lies in state at the Accra International Conference Centre in Ghana yesterday. Ghanaians paid their respects to Mr Annan, who died in August in Switzerland aged 80, ahead of today’s state funeral. The grandson of tribal chiefs, Mr Annan was the first black African to become the UN leader and was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize.
