Dundee Fear of recurring history
Craig Gordon and John Mcginn’s antics against Belgium were clearly inspired by Dundee’s last game at Ibrox, where a dawdling Genseric Kusunga was robbed on the edge of the box and punished by a rampant Rangers team who won 4-0. The fear for those of us attending this weekend is that our adherence to playing out from the back will only lead to a similar scoreline.
It’s clear that Kusunga, Josh Meekings and Jack Hamilton struggle to comply with our tactics, which invites pressure on to ourselves. Neil Mccann picked up two centre-backs on loan on deadline day, and Ryan Inniss looks likely to get the nod. He showed calm and poise against Motherwell. Introducing him to the starting line-up along with recalling Elliot Parish in goal might help prevent history repeating itself.
