Aberdeen Pointless hammering

-

The last week has demonstrated how out of touch the SFA actually is. Sitting in a half-full ground watching us play five at the back against Belgium was painful and, from a rankings perspective, pointless. Switzerland showed how important friendlies are to qualification seedings, but the SFA believe that the draw of playing Portugal and Belgium will negate the downside.

Those days are past. Fans can see those players every week on TV, so watching us being pumped by them live is pointless. There would be more sense in playing teams around our ranking and winning. Fans would pay to watch us play 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 against Cyprus and have a chance of winning. Perhaps not 52,000 to start, but enough to pack other grounds and, given time and victories, attendances would rise.
