Language unit set to replace school

Councillors have supported plans to replace a North Lanarkshire primary school with a new building that will also house a specialist language unit for children with additional support needs.

Members of the council’s education committee have backed the Gartcosh Primary plans. The new school will include a language and communication support centre. The building’s exact location is still to be decided.
