Queen of the South Catch-22

- Neil Cameron

The main discussion ahead of our Challenge Cup game against Crusaders was whether Gary Naysmith should rotate the squad or not. This competition is always a catch-22. It is our best chance of silverware every season, and a competition that has provided us with great memories over the years. It is also the least important competition of the four that we enter.

Understandably, in the end he opted for the same XI that thrashed Ayr the week before, and with us again holding a 4-0 lead at the break we were looking at a repeat performance. However, our visitors from Belfast rallied in the second half and gave us a nervy 45 minutes as the game ended 4-3. We will need to be at our best for 90 minutes against the league leaders on Saturday.
