Girl seriously injured in quad bike crash

An eight-year-old girl has been seriously injured in a quad bike crash in Ayrshire.

The girl and a 27-year-old man both sustained serious injuries when the bike crashed on a public footpath in Springfield Gardens, Irvine.

Emergency services attended and the casualties were taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment, where they are said to be in a serious condition.
