Linn treble keeps the Red Lichties as leading lights

Arbroath continue to lead the way in League 1 with Bobby Linn inspiring a 3-1 win over

Forfar at Gayfield.

Linn twisted his way into the Loons box before finding the far corner on 38 minutes, but the visitors equalised in firsthalf injury time when new recruit Ross Cunningham curled home a 20-yard freekick. Linn restored the Red Lichties’ lead five minutes into the second half, then completed his hat-trick when he copied Cunningham’s effort.

Arbroath assistant manager Ian Campbell said: “It was a good result and performanc­e.”
