Body found on playing fields

The body of a man was found on playing fields near George Watson’s College in Edinburgh yesterday.

Police said the discovery was made in the Myreside playing fields area around 9:40am.

Officers are treating the death as unexplained but not suspicious.

A spokesperson for George Watson’s College said: “Cordons are in place at the scene.

The school’s response is being led by the principal Melvyn Roffe, who said: “The school continues to operate as normal.”
