Worker dies after fall on site of new AECC

A worker has died after an incident on the construction site of the new Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC).

Emergency services were called to the development on Tuesday 4 September over reports of a man who had been injured. It is understood he had fallen from a ladder.

He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment, but Police Scotland said yesterday that 51-year-old Kevin Stewart, of Ellon in Aberdeenshire, had died.

The £333 million development in Bucksburn is due to open next year.
