Rangers Barisic the barrier

- Jamie Currie

It’s about time Rangers managed routine wins at Ibrox, and to be able to kill teams off within the first 45 minutes was very welcome. I felt the performance was excellent and Steven Gerrard’s style of play and attacking plan became a lot clearer, which was nice to see.

I’m not going to wax lyrical about the four goalscorers, but instead I’ll lavish praise on Borna Barisic. Given that all the focus was put on his crossing ability when he signed from Osijek, I’ve been more than pleased with his defensive game, too. He made a vital block in the first half against Dundee and covered for Nikola Katic on a few occasions. He seems to love to defend and loves a tackle. I think it’s an underrated facet of his game.
