Could do better

Fortunately, the SNP will be out of power before it gets another chance ...

Lavrenti Zapadni

Humza has a problem on his hands, right enough. The system works fine, and is not broken – problem number 1. The word British is still there, reminding Scotland that it is British – problem number 2. How can he remove the word “British”, ruin and destroy the service and spend shedloads of extra cash in the process to create a non-british service? Tough one.

Old clothes and porridge

It was actually a recommendation on the Smith Commission, but of course it’s just the bad SNP not happy with the word “British”.

Daviejams The SNP were voted in despite being incapable of good government simply because of the promise of independence, which, as we all know, transcends everything as far as they’re concerned.

Jomydo Education Secretary John Swinney has been urged to “listen and learn” by scrapping controversial primary one testing ahead of a crucial vote on the issue.

Anyone that thought he was going to listen to primary school teachers was, I’m afraid, kidding themselves.

Hoditanddodit

The SNP do not do listening. They do grievance and blame, then run for cover when things go wrong.

The Highlander

How often has the SNP accused the UK government of ignoring the will of the Scottish Parliament?

Not a lemming

I wonder just how much this pondering, surmising, fiddling, tweaking has cost the taxpayer so far when in fact the money should have been better spent on more teachers and better equipment for schools.

Jomydo Personally I don’t see the problem with P1 testing but no government, particularly a minority government, should be in a position to decide if and when they abide by the will of Parliament.

Arch Stainton

Swinney? Sturgeon? Listen? Nah. They only dictate.

It’s one-way traffic on that particular part of the communication pathway. It’s the essential element of the nationalist tragedy. Fortunately it is the making of their downfall, of course.

Ulcerating soon

I don’t know a lot about it but it doesn’t seem so bad to me.

Eleanor Stewart Government has handed over our finest landscapes to be completely trashed by the wind farm industry. Their giant industrial turbines, miles and miles of bulldozed tracks and thousands of pylons are now visible from more than 60 per cent of Scotland! The hauntingly beautiful Dava Moor is currently being utterly devastated.

George EH These tracks should be upgraded to allow Blue Badge holders and pensioners access to the peaks. Nothing to stop those that can and want to pant and sweat their way to the top; but the lack of disabled access is discriminatory and unfair to those of limited mobility.

Oldyun Extremely hypocritical coming from the so-called “Greens”. They promote the cause of the problem then whinge about the result.
