Ross County Fair result

- John Maxwell

County weren’t as fluid or cohesive as they had been against Falkirk and Raith Rovers. The team didn’t have a quick enough tempo to their passing and didn’t use the width from Michael Gardyne and Josh Mullin enough. Queen of the South had the better of the first period, with Stephen Dobbie rattling the bar and Scott Fox denying a marauding Lyndon Dykes.

In the second half, County moved the ball quicker from middle to front and had a good spell of pressure to isolate Dobbie. They were really beginning to turn the screw with Queens sitting deeper than before, but the hosts ultimately thwarted the Staggies. A draw was a fair result and it sets up a cracking prospect for a top-of-the-table Highland derby in Dingwall.
