Dunfermline Athletic Alarm bells ringing

- John V Lloyd

The problem with having the cream of the Championship’s players is that you find clots in cream! The match with Alloa Athletic was grim. There were no boos during the game, nor is it true that Allan Johnston criticised the fans. Both were fake news. However, the jeers at full-time could have been heard for miles around; drowned out only by the alarm bells in the boardroom as the support fell 11 per cent on the previous game.

Johnston talks defiantly of going on a winning run but games at Cappielow offer little comfort. Under Jim Duffy, Morton beat us twice there last season and despatched us from the Scottish Cup. Many of our anonymous keyboard warriors would welcome him in a heartbeat.
