Game changer

-

Not being a member of any political party, I feel I must reply to the rather selective points Martin Redfern makes on the SNP and Brexit (Letters, 20 September). He fails to mention that one of the big arguments peddled by the Remain camp was that if Scotland voted to leave the UK we would cease to be part of the European Community. How can any Remain supporters possibly criticise the SNP for promoting another referendum when the Brexit vote was a complete game changer? Mr Redfern is obviously aware that the majority of Scots voted to remain in Europe and be part of the European Community, but to see the wishes of a nation totally disregarded in such a fashion is incomprehensible.

Willie Rennie and his fellow Lib Dems are just clutching at straws, hoping to be the third-biggest party in Britain again. Scots can well remember them backing the Tories in a Tory/lib Dem coalition and as we have witnessed again recently, they are more than prepared to back up their Tory pals, for example on P1 testing, so come on Nicola, bring on Indyref2.
