Teachers’ pests

Scottish Tory leader Ruth Davidson challenged Nicola Sturgeon’s record on education during a heated First Minister’s Questions this week. Ms Davidson also demanded a complete overhaul of the Curriculum for Excellence system which applies in all of Scotland’s schools.

Sturgeon’s education record? She is only interested in bashing Westminster and preparing for indyref2.

jefke The most significant statistic for Sturgeon to chew over; there are now 3,500 fewer teachers in Scotland’s schools since the SNP came to power over a decade ago. All the other stuff is spin.

It would be refreshing if Sturgeon could acknowledge that there is a problem, as opposed to attacking the messenger. Then and only then will we move forward. Our kids’ futures and education is just too important for her to resort to petty inaccurate and cherrypicked statistics.
