NEW ENGINES AND KIT FOR FORD MPVS

-

Ford has enhanced S-max and Galaxy people movers with new engines and gearbox to deliver even greater fuel efficiency, performance and refinement for its customers.

The Ford S-MAX and Galaxy are now offered for the first time with Ford’s 2.0-litre Ecoblue diesel engine featuring power outputs from 118bhp to 238bhp; and with an advanced new eight-speed automatic transmission.

By the end of 2018, both will also add 1.5 Ecoboost 163bhp petrol engines to their lineups.

Ford says the 2.0-litre diesel offers the performance of a larger engine alongside the fuel efficiency and low CO2 emissions synonymous with a smaller engine capacity. It is available in 118bhp, 148bhp, 187bhp and 238bhp forms, the latter featuring bi-turbo technology.

The improved technology offering includes adaptive cruise control with stop and go functionality when combined with the eight-speed automatic; an enhanced version of ford’ s blind spot inform at ionsystem(blis)t hat can detect approaching vehicles at greater distance; and a new Ford clear view wiper system for improved visibility.

Both models also offer Ford’s adaptive front lighting system that adjusts the head light beam angle to match the driving environment and features a glare-free high beam function; and active park assist for hands-free parking manoeuvres.
