Church on list for prestigious health award
Polwarth Parish Church’s garden is one of ten projects countrywide to be shortlisted for the first ever Green Health Awards which show how church space can be used to providetherapeutic gardening opportunities for members of their local communities.
It is the only working church on the Union Canal between Edinburgh and Falkirk. The church uses land adopted from the Scottish Waterways Trust to create a garden to promote Polwarth as a ‘place of wholeness and wellbeing’ for veterans of the Armed Forces and others.
